Dr. Anthony M. Grady Dr. Grady has been in child welfare since 1993. Along with that journey, he worked in the private sector for five (5) years, before coming to the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) legal division in 1999. Since coming to DCFS in 1999, Dr. Grady has Supervised Monitoring staff that oversee agencies contracted to provide social services, he has supervised staff in daycare licensing, Statewide Trainer on DCFS policies, and most recently worked a year at the Department of Human Services as an Assistant Administrator to monitor and work with the distribution of benefits such as: (link cards, medical cards, and TANF a money assistance program). While with DCFS, he has had the opportunity to work in a variety of positions:  Paralegal for adoptions and sub-guardianship, paralegal for courtroom child welfare cases, dully involved minors, screening cases for Department of Child Protection for the court, assigning tracking numbers for new Temporary Custody cases, trainings on adoptions and guardianship process, and the liaison for Cook County DCFS and between the State’s Attorney’s Office for the Termination of Parental Rights. Upon his return back to DCFS in November of 2014 after a yearlong separation, he took the position of Clinical Manager for the Cook South Clinical Region of DCFS, where he supervises five (5) clinical coordinators that conduct clinical staffing’s throughout Cook County. He has sat on numerous committees: the implementation of tracking system for guardianship and adoption cases, House Bill 291 (that allows cases to be assigned to DCFS through delinquency court), Child Death Review Committee, Home and Relative initiative HMR, statewide trainer, Regional Caseworker Practice Program Improvement Plan (PIP), the Directors Committee for PII (looking at long-term foster care), and statewide trainer on Home and Relative (HMR) and Background checks and many other duties one being detailed to assist with monitoring practices in the court system in Urbana Illinois. In 2016 he started his own Counseling Agency Healthy Hearts Healthy Minds LLC Located in Greater Northwest Indiana. He currently he holds a Paralegal Certificate from (Roosevelt University), an undergraduate degree in Political Science from (Illinois Benedictine University), a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from (Dominican University), and a Doctoral Degree from (Olivet Nazarene University).
